DRYDOCK 2
Hector entered Todd Shipyards, the former Los Angeles Shipbuilding and DryDock Corporation
(where she was originally built) in San Pedro, CA, on 17 Nov 1969.  During this extensive yard period,  most aspects of the engineering plant received a major overhauling,the two large cranes were completely redone, an entire new communications center was installed,repairs performed on the hull, and much of the exterior of the ship was sandblasted & re-painted. On 20 March 1970, Hector successfully completed a day of sea trials.
