The hotel has shuttle service to the airport or anywhere in Rapid City.  Rapid City is served by four airlines:
Northwest Airlines  1-800-225-2525  Non-Stop Service to/from Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota.
Allegiant Air  1-800-432-3810  Non-Stop Service to/from Las Vegas, Nevada and Phoenix, Arizona.

For those who are driving, the hotel is located just north of Interstate 90.  Take exit 59, La Cross Street north to the hotel.  If you drive, be prepared for some beautiful country.  There is a lot of history in the Black Hills National Forest, Bad Lands National Park and the many old western towns in the area.  When you make hotel reservations make sure to ask for USS Hector room rates.
REMEMBER:  YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING YOUR OWN HOTEL RESERVATIONS

They have parking for RV's in the back of the parking lot.  No hookups and you must be registered for the reunion.

According to Rachael Ray on the Food Network some of the best buffalo sausage, Firehouse beer and gumbo is available in Rapid City.

The Plan of the Day - Reunion 2008 – Rapid City, SD

Wednesday:  10:00 AM
As usual Wednesday is registration day. To give everyone an opportunity to get acquainted/reacquainted, the hospitality room will open at 1:00 PM and stay opened until ???

Thursday:  9:00 AM – A six hour tour.
Tour #1…The bus will leave the hotel at 9:00 AM and tour Custer State Park, including photo stops, Iron Mountain Road, Wildlife Loop Road, Norbeck Visitor Center, Granite tunnels and Pigtail Bridges on Needles Hwy, and Sylvan lake. We will be enjoying a box lunch, provided, in the Park. The bus will return to the hotel about 3:00 PM. The hospitality room will open when the tour is over. Social hour at 7:00 PM

Friday:  2:30 PM - A seven and one-half-hour tour.
Tour #2…The bus will leave the hotel at 2:30 PM. It will make stops at Crazy Horse (Approximately two hours), and then on to Mt. Rushmore Lighting Ceremony, about three 3 hours to tour, eat dinner and find seats for the Lighting Ceremony.  The bus will return to the hotel at about 10:00 PM.  For those not going on the tour the Hospitality room will be opened at 3:00 PM.

Saturday:  9:00 AM
Tour #3…The Bus will leave the hotel at 9:00 AM and tour the Badlands National Park with photo stops along the way plus a stop at the Ben Riefel Visitor Center.  Lunch will be on your own at the Wall Drug Store located in Wall, South Dakota. Plan to be back at the hotel about 3:00 PM

Saturday:  6:00 PM Social Hour (Cash Bar) in the Banquet room, followed by the Banquet.  Be sure to select your choice of beef or chicken on the Registration Form, Page 3.  After the Banquet we will have our regular raffle.  Please bring something that can be raffled. This raffle is a fun way to bring a few bucks into our bank account so we can continue to enjoy these of activities for many years to come. Any donations for the raffle will be greatly appreciated.

Sunday:  9:00 AM
The ever-popular memorial service will be held by the Association this service is in honor of all of our shipmates who have set sail on their final cruise since the last reunion. It is non-denominational and will last about 45 minutes
